How to read this work
This website is not really a blog.
It is more of a reference site. Each page is here to hold one idea clearly, so it can be returned to later.
The purpose is not to win arguments or persuade everyone to agree with me. It is to set out how I understand certain parts of training, especially where karate, self-protection, and real-world consequences meet.
Some pages may feel short. Some may seem to overlap with others. That is intentional. Training does not always fit neatly into separate boxes. The same idea can appear again and again, but from a slightly different angle.
This is not meant to be a step-by-step syllabus either. It is a collection of working notes, principles, and observations built from years of training, teaching, testing, and changing my mind.
People may disagree with parts of it. That is fine. Disagreement is useful when it comes from experience, honest testing, and a willingness to look beyond habit.
If something cannot be tested, questioned, or made to work under pressure, then it should not be trusted just because it has been handed down.
That is the foundation of this work.
